Paul is Managing Director of Maui Capital and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Maui Capital Indigo Fund.

Paul is one of New Zealand’s most prominent private equity managers. He has approximately 30 years of business experience in private investment, senior management, finance and corporate finance.

Prior to co-founding Maui Capital in 2008, Paul was Head of Private Equity at Goldman Sachs JBWere (NZ) (2001 to 2007), where he established, and had overall management responsibility, for that firm’s private equity activities in New Zealand, including as Principal Executive Director of the Hauraki Private Equity No. 1 and No. 2 Funds.

Paul currently serves on the boards of Norfolk Group (ASX:NFK), having been Chairman of that company from 2004 to 2007, and Sea + City Projects, a company set up by Auckland Regional Holdings to oversee the development of the Western Viaduct on Auckland’s waterfront. He is also a past Chairman and/or director of Hirepool, Guardian Healthcare, Tiri Group, Vision Senior Living and a number of other companies owned by the Hauraki No. 1 and No.2 Funds.

Paul has previously held a number of senior corporate, finance and advisory roles in both New Zealand and Europe within a variety of industries including: energy; oil and gas; building development and construction; manufacturing; and finance and investment banking.
