Brent is a Director of Maui Capital and a member of the Investment Committee of Maui Capital’s Indigo Fund.

Brent has 18 years’ business experience.  Prior to establishing Maui Capital in 2008, he was a Director of Private Equity at Goldman Sachs JBWere (2002 – 2007), where he managed the Hauraki No. 1 and No. 2 Funds.

Brent is a director of Freshmax, BJ Ball Group, Diversified Mining Services and Insulpro Manufacturing, and is a past director of Hirepool, Tiri Group, Norfolk Group (NZ) and BILDNZ Group.  He is also currently a member of the St Cuthbert’s College Educational Trust Board and a past Council member of the New Zealand Private Equity & Venture Capital Association.  

Brent brings experience in private equity, general corporate finance and law. He began his early working career as a corporate finance/mergers & acquisitions lawyer, most recently in the London office of Linklaters.  

Brent holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Bachelor of Laws from Otago University, and a Master of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland.  He is married to Kaye and has 2 daughters.
