The deals we do include: management buy-outs and buy-ins; providing expansion capital where opportunities exist for organic growth or industry consolidation or “roll-up” strategies; recapitalising or buying shares from existing investors where there are good growth prospects; and “public–to-private” deals when companies are taken over and delisted from a stock exchange.

We take a disciplined approach to our analysis of any opportunity. Then we talk with potential partners to see if we have a shared approach to strategy and business structure before undertaking more detailed commercial review.
While the nature of deals varies, our focus is always highly selective. We invest only in a small number of what we see as the best opportunities. These are businesses with strong market positions and opportunities for growth that are driven by good people. We favour a medium to long-term view because we believe it is the only way to form a genuine partnership.
